Rehabilitation Nursing

Rehabilitation nurses treat patients that have a temporary or permanent disability or debilitating illness. Rehabilitation nurses may help a patient relearn to eat, walk or speak, as well as administer medications, change bandages or help with meals and personal hygiene. The major professional organization for rehabilitation nursing is the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN). The Rehabilitation Nursing Certification Board (RNCB) maintains the Certified Registered Rehabilitation Nurse (CRRN) credential program, which is accredited by the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS). The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts excellent, overall job growth for registered nurses. The median registered nurse salary is $62,450.
