According to a UC San Francisco report, there will be a shortage of up to 10,000 candidates in the next few years to fill the growing number of Los Angeles nursing jobs. Los Angeles' largest hospitals include: Lanterman Development Center, Los Angeles County USC Medical Center, and Cedars Sinai Medical Center.

PeriAnesthesia Nursing

Perianesthesia nurses care for patients before and after those patients undergo anesthesia. Postoperative perianesthesia nursing duties including ensuring the patients breathing and vital signs are normal, and managing the patients pain and nausea. The American Board of Perianesthesia Nursing Certification, Inc maintains two certification programs: Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) and Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA)both of which are accredited by the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS). The major professional organization for perianesthesia nursing is the American Society of PeriAnesthesia Nurses (ASPAN). The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts excellent, overall job growth for registered nurses.
