Washington Parish Nursing Jobs

As the need for more nursing jobs increases in the state of Washington, campaigns are running to increase the awareness of the value of the nursing profession to society. Washington faces many of the same problems as other states in its nursing shortage, so a major focus has been adding nursing faculty and improving nursing education programs for the rapidly expanding number of people interested in nursing as a career. if all goes according to plan, the state will be able to reverse the scary projection of being 26,000 nurses short by the year 2020.

Parish Nursing

Parish nurses, also known as church nurses, combine their nursing skills and religious faith to care for fellow members of their religious community. One resource for parish nurses is the International Parish Nurse Resource Center run by Deaconess Parish Nurse Ministries, LLC. The American Nurses Association (ANA) calls parish nursing, faith community nursing. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts excellent, overall job growth for registered nurses. The median annual salary of registered nurses is $62,450; annual salaries are greatly influenced by specialty, experience, region and industry.
