New Hampshire Parish Nursing Jobs
There is a great need to create and fill more nursing jobs in New Hampshire, but there is currently a shortage. This is not due to a lack of interest in nursing, but rather a lack of faculty to teach qualified applicants at nursing schools and hospitals. Recent efforts have been made to expand programs and add nursing courses online, but with the average age of RNs being almost 50 in the state, more will need to be done to make up for an aging workforce.
Parish Nursing
Parish nurses, also known as church nurses, combine their nursing skills and religious faith to care for fellow members of their religious community. One resource for parish nurses is the International Parish Nurse Resource Center run by Deaconess Parish Nurse Ministries, LLC. The American Nurses Association (ANA) calls parish nursing, faith community nursing. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts excellent, overall job growth for registered nurses. The median annual salary of registered nurses is $62,450; annual salaries are greatly influenced by specialty, experience, region and industry.
