Nursing Assistant
Nursing assistantsincluding nursing aides, nursing attendants and nursing care attendants work under the supervision of nursing and medical staff to complete routine tasks and provide direct patient care. Nursing assistants might help patients with grooming and eating, straighten up patients rooms, escort them to exam rooms, take their pulse and more. The federal government requires nursing aides that work in nursing care facilities to complete a state-approved training program and pass an evaluation test to become Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs). The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts excellent job growth for nursing aides, orderlies and attendants.
