Dallas Legal Nursing Consultant Jobs

Hospitals in the Dallas area seem to be doing a better job at keeping nursing jobs filled than the rest of Texas, with a total hospital staffing vacancy rate much lower than the statewide rate of 11 percent. However, the rate for RNs was a little higher, and the nursing shortage is still a major concern. A recent law will address this issue by providing $30 million in funding to increase enrollment at nursing schools so qualified applicants stop getting turned down. This will be a great aid to hospitals where nurses are being overworked because of a lack of staff. Major hospitals in Dallas include Parkland Memorial Hospital, Baylor University Medical Center, and Medical City Hospital.

Legal Nursing Consultant

Legal nurse consultants (LNCs) lend their nursing experience and expertise to attorneys to help with the medical aspects of their cases. Several organizations and agencies exist for legal nurse consultants, though the main professional LNC organization is the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants. The Legal Nurse Consultant Certified (LNCC) program is maintained by the American Legal Nurse Consultant Certification Board (ALNCCB) and is accredited by the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS). A registered nurse can also become a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant (CLNC), but this credential is not recognized by the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS).
