Denver Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing Jobs
The Colorado Nursing Association reports that the shortage of qualified candidates for Denver nursing jobs is twice the national average and that by 2020 there will be a 30% vacancy rate for nursing jobs in Denver and the rest of Colorado. Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing
Hospice and palliative care nurses focus on upholding quality of life for terminally ill patients, usually in homes or hospices. The National Board of Certification for Hospice and Palliative Nurses (NBCHPN) maintains the Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (ACHPN) and Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN) credential exams, which are both accredited by the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS). Hospice and palliative care nursing organizations include the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA). The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts excellent, overall job growth for registered nurses, especially for those that work for home healthcare or nursing care settings.
