Holistic nurses aim to treat a patient?s mental and spiritual health, as well as his or her physical health. Holistic nursing complements conventional medical treatments with complementary and alternative modalities (CAM). These complementary treatments may include massage, aromatherapy, homeopathy, acupuncture and biofeedback, which is a technique taught to patients to help them monitor and control things like blood pressure, breathing, muscle tension and heart rate. Registered nurses may obtain the Certification in Holistic Nursing through the American Holistic Nurses Certification Corporation (AHNCC). The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts excellent, overall job growth for registered nurses. The median registered nurse salary is $62,450.
