HIV/AIDS Nursing
HIV/AIDS nurses treat patients that have been diagnosed with HIV or AIDS. The HIV/AIDS Nursing Certification Board (HANCB) maintains the Certification Examination in HIV/AIDS Nursing by which registered nurses may become an AIDS Certified Registered Nurse (ACRN). Registered nurses that have a masters degree or higher in nursing may be eligible to test for the Advanced AIDS Certification Registered Nurse Credential. The major professional organization for HIV/AIDS nurses is the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC). The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts excellent, overall job growth for registered nurses. The median registered nurse salary is $62,450.
