A recent study suggests that many nursing jobs in Delaware will be needed and available in the near future, as many nurses will be retiring or plan to leave the profession in the next 10 years. The state is working to combat this potentially serious nursing shortage by developing an aggressive nursing scholarship program and targeting more nursing faculty to teach incoming students. Recruitment of more males and minorities is also a focus to improve nurses. numbers and add diverse care in Delaware.s hospitals.

Gastroenterology Nursing
Gastroenterology nurses care for patients with intestinal and digestive disorders, including acid reflux, abdominal bleeding, irritable bowel syndrome, cancer and ulcers. An experienced gastroenterology nurse can become a Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse (CGRN) if he or she passes the national certification exam administered by, and meets the requirements of, the American Board of Certification for Gastroenterology Nurses (ABCGN). This certification exam is accredited by the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS), and Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurses must renew their CGRN certification every five years. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects excellent, overall job growth for registered nurses.
