Flight-Transport Nursing

Flight-transport nurses are emergency-trauma nurses that treat patients during air and/or ground transport before they reach a medical facility or while transferring critically ill patients between facilities. The Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) credential is available through the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) and is accredited by the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS). To become a CFRN, a registered nurse must have a current license; flight nurse experience is recommended but not required. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects excellent, overall job growth for registered nurses. According to PayScale, the flight nurse salary range is $58,340-$80,654.
