South Carolina Emergency-Trauma Nursing Jobs

There are many open nursing jobs in South Carolina for RNs, LPNs, nurse practitioners and more. Rural areas and teaching hospitals are especially in desperate need of these nurses. Upstate South Carolina is doing well keeping nursing vacancy rates low for now, but that is expected to change. This is because like the majority of states, South Carolina has an aging population and a shortage of nurse educators. The state is being proactive, though, knowing that a nursing shortage is inevitable.

Emergency-Trauma Nursing

Emergency-trauma nurses provide rapid, initial assessment and treatment for patients. Because emergency-trauma nurses treat patients of all ages suffering from an extensive range of illnesses and injuries, they must be able to recognize and treat a wide variety of ailments, quickly and efficiently. The Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) offers certification as a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN), Certified Transport Registered Nurse (CTRN) and Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN). BCENs CEN and CFRN certification credentials have been accredited by the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS).
