San Jose Emergency-Trauma Nursing Jobs

San Jose is facing the same challenge filling nursing jobs as the majority of metro areas in California. There are simply more patients needing care in hospitals than nurses can handle. Sadly, the recession has compounded this problem as San Jose hospitals have slowed in hiring, but RNs are still in great demand in the area and this will only increase. The three main hospitals in San Jose are Good Samaritan Hospital, O.Connor Hospital, and Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.

Emergency-Trauma Nursing

Emergency-trauma nurses provide rapid, initial assessment and treatment for patients. Because emergency-trauma nurses treat patients of all ages suffering from an extensive range of illnesses and injuries, they must be able to recognize and treat a wide variety of ailments, quickly and efficiently. The Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) offers certification as a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN), Certified Transport Registered Nurse (CTRN) and Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN). BCENs CEN and CFRN certification credentials have been accredited by the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS).
