To receive their Certificate in Nurse-Midwifery, registered nurses must graduate from a nurse-midwifery program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME)the accrediting body of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM)and pass the national certification exam offered by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB). According to PayScale, the nurse-midwife salary range is $36,000 to $84,511. The U.S. Bureau of Labor statistics predicts excellent, overall job growth for registered nurses.
