Washington Psychiatric Nursing Jobs
As the need for more nursing jobs increases in the state of Washington, campaigns are running to increase the awareness of the value of the nursing profession to society. Washington faces many of the same problems as other states in its nursing shortage, so a major focus has been adding nursing faculty and improving nursing education programs for the rapidly expanding number of people interested in nursing as a career. If all goes according to plan, the state will be able to reverse the scary projection of being 26,000 nurses short by the year 2020.

The American Nurses Credentialing Center maintains the following credentials: Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), Family Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist (PMHCNS-BC) and more. The major professional organization for psychiatric mental health nursing is the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA). The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts excellent, overall job growth for registered nurses. The median registered nurse salary is $62,450.
