St. Louis Occupational Health Nursing Jobs
The availability of nursing jobs in the St. Louis area has lessened a bit recently due to the economy, but this is not expected to last long. Some hospitals have had to cut back on hiring, but there is still a significant shortage of nurses. This is good news for nursing graduates and students, who will be in great demand for years to come. Three major hospitals in the St. Louis area include: St. John.s Mercy Medical Center, Saint Louis University Hospital, and St. Louis Children.s Hospital.

Occupational Health Nursing
Occupational health nurses work with employers to help prevent job-related injuries and illnesses and implement health and safety programs, including disaster planning and emergency preparedness. The American Board for Occupational Health Nurses (ABOHN) offers four credentials: Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN), Certified Occupational Health Nurse ? Specialist (COHN-S), Case Management (CM) and Safety Management (SM). These occupational health nursing credentials are accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and the American Board for Nursing Specialties (ABNS). The major professional organization for occupational health nurses is the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses Inc (AAOHN). According to PayScale, the median occupational health nurse salary is $52,822-$70,403.
