Also, schools such as UNLV have expanded enrollment and increased faculty in order to supply the city with qualified nurses for the future. In Vegas, the major hospitals include: Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, Desert Springs Hospital, and Spring Valley Hospital.

Holistic nurses aim to treat a patient?s mental and spiritual health, as well as his or her physical health. Holistic nursing complements conventional medical treatments with complementary and alternative modalities (CAM). These complementary treatments may include massage, aromatherapy, homeopathy, acupuncture and biofeedback, which is a technique taught to patients to help them monitor and control things like blood pressure, breathing, muscle tension and heart rate. Registered nurses may obtain the Certification in Holistic Nursing through the American Holistic Nurses Certification Corporation (AHNCC).
